Duet Inisfree Better Believe It
Eli is a sweet and loving boy who is full of life and mischief. He knows how to get into everything and he does! I have to work hard to keep him gainfully occupied so he doesn't get into something he shouldn't. He keeps me very busy.
Eli had the opportunity to go to the 2019 Afghan Hound National in October in Virginia Beach. He was a great traveler and he made a hit with all the other Afghan Hound owners he was able to force to pay attention to him. It was very fun to have him there and for icing on the cake he was placed 3rd out of 6 in his class in the 6-9 month puppy sweepstakes class. He had very strong competition and our judge was the esteemed Harry Bennett. I was extremely pleased with his performance that day.
In December 2019 he was entered at the Granite City Kennel Club show in St. Cloud, MN where he received his first points and a 3 point major to boot, from the Bred By Exhibitor class. Judge Ms. Mary C Murphy-East.
We headed to the International shows in March 2020 to get prepared for the Breeders Cup at the end of the month. He did very well at these shows and was BIS Bred By on Sunday at one of the two shows. I was delighted with him. He has his National and International Puppy Championship titles now.
Unfortunately with Covid 19 our Breeders Cup was canceled as were most of the shows during the summer. We were able to attend the Cambridge/Anoka shows in September which were held outdoors. Eli was WD on Saturday under Judge Dana Cline and BOBOH with a G4 in OH Hound Group under Judge Gloria Kerr and on Sunday he was WD/BOW/BOBOH under Judge Linda Riedel with a G1 in the OH Hound Group under Judge Elizabeth Muthard on Sunday.
Eli went to Mason City Iowa on the weekend of April 24th and 25th, 2021. He was BOB out of the classes both days. Dr Steve Keating was the judge on Saturday and Mr Del Richards was the judge on Sunday. Saturday he also was Best OH, so off to groups we went. He received G4 from Mr Del Richards and G2 in the OH series under Dr Steve Keating. Sunday he was a little too excited by the steak I had for bait and so didn't move as well as he did on Saturday in the Group ring, so we did not receive any placement in the Group.
Eli finished his Championship going BOB out of the classes at the Land O' Lakes Kennel Club shows the first weekend in May, 2021 and then got his first major toward his Grand Championship the next day.
In 2 1/2 months as a Champion Eli has nearly finished his Grand Title. He needs 2 more points and one more major win. On Sunday July 18, 2021 in Duluth he was BOB for 5 points, Group 4 in the Hound Group and Group 2 in the Owner Handled Hound Group.
